From accurate load and height readings to measuring eccentricity, Instron's advanced
spring measurement systems enable spring manufacturers to know exactly how their
products will perform under real-world conditions.
Advanced spring testing systems include:
These systems are available exclusively on the SF1288 spring testing load frame.
Eccentricity Measurement
An increasing number of spring applications require the knowledge of a spring's
side load or eccentricity. In the auto industry, specially designed springs with
minimum side loads have resulted in better riding vehicles with less suspension
wear. Instron's Model SF1288 can be equipped with an EMSY™ (Eccentricity Measurement
System). The EMSY device determines the exact response of a spring by measuring
forces in all three dimensions.
Lateral Spring Rate and Float Displacement
Springs used in railway applications protect rail vehicles from shock loads by providing
both axial and lateral resistance. Instron's Model SF1288 can be equipped with a
multi-axis slide device to measure lateral spring rates in addition to standard
axial spring rates.
